SEA3 SYSTEMS

Sea3 provides innovative naval architecture, ocean engineering and integration services. We create new designs and refits that may span multiple technical disciplines and require detailed design, project management and logistical support. Sea3 is licensed to practice engineering, and our Naval Architects and Engineers are highly trained technologists with deep technical knowledge and practical experience in marine systems. Our expertise includes vessel design, electric and conventional propulsion systems, controls and automation, hydrodynamics and mechanical system design. We make sure our designs will work by using sophisticated computer simulations early in the design process. Having been in business for over 30 years, we have seen vessels and their systems greatly increase in complexity. We have the technical skills and broad experience with shipyard operations and support trades to effectively execute sophisticated projects.

VESSEL DESIGN

Sea3 Systems creates transformative designs for the 21st century through advanced technology and multidisciplinary engineering. New-build or refit, large project or small, yacht or offshore system, we bring a whole-ship approach to the science of marine design.
Our focus is on vessels in the range of 30 to 150 meters LOA (100 to 480 ft), such as workboats, yachts, ferries and small to medium size cargo ships. We specialize in creating highly integrated solutions which reduce operational and maintenance costs. We produce customized, efficient, and innovative solutions for each project. Sea3 Systems uses advanced CAD tools, computer-based modeling and numerical simulation to test and refine designs before going to sea. This reduces project development time and cost, and provides a solid technical base for ongoing maintenance.

ELECTRIC PROPULSION

Electric or conventional? All electric or hybrid? When it comes to propulsion, electric machines offer clear advantages that every vessel owner and team should consider, including:

Reduced noise
Improved fuel efficiency
Reduced pollution
Lower maintenance costs
Increased maneuverability

Sea3 can tailor an electric propulsion system to fit the exact cost and performance requirements of a particular project by selecting the electric motors, batteries, power electronics, transmissions and other components best suited for the task. The benefits of electric propulsion are so impactful that a drastic shift in the way we build and refit vessels is taking place around the world. We are here to prepare you for this shift, and to help lead the way.

SOFTWARE AND SIMULATION

Sea3 Systems transforms vessels for the 21st century. We utilize advanced technology and engineering to create customized, efficient, and innovative solutions. These solutions include computer-based modeling, which allows testing to occur much faster and without going to sea.

SYSTEM INTEGRATION

A ship is a system of systems. Propulsion, navigation, electrical power, water, waste, air conditioning, communications … the list goes on and on. And continuously advancing technology often means more and more systems of different types being incorporated into vessels of all sizes, whether being added through refits or incorporated into new-builds. Each new system must find a space among the existing ones and often must interoperate with them. All of this increasing capability usually brings more complexity, higher costs, and lower reliability.

Sea3 believes that a holistic, multidisciplinary approach can reduce the design time, improve performance, reduce build cost, and improve maintainability of the entire vessel. We design software based systems which tie together all of the different pieces and ensure that they work together effectively. This integrated approach simplifies vessel operation by centralizing control and maintenance of the various systems.
